У даній роботі досліджується еволюція концепції нескінченності у математиці. Проаналізовано перехід
від її раннього, потенційного розуміння у давньогрецькій філософії до строгої актуальної формалізації
досягнутої в теорії множин Георга Кантора. Особлива увага приділяється математичним інструментам
які дозволили працювати з нескінченністю: теорії границь в аналізі та системі трансфінітних чисел.

INFINITY IN MATHEMATICS: FROM PHILOSOPHY TO MODERN SCIENCE

Abstract: This paper explores the evolution of the concept of infinity in mathematics. The transition from its early,
potential understanding in ancient Greek philosophy to the rigorous, actual formalization achieved in Georg
Cantor's set theory is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the mathematical tools that made it possible to work with
infinity: limit theory in analysis and the system of transfinite numbers.
