Abstract. The study examines the philosophical dimension of digital disconnection (digital detox) as an essential ethical practice aimed at preserving cognitive autonomy and freedom of choice in an era of ubiquitous network hyperconnectivity. The author analyzes the psychological and existential consequences of digital exhaustion, drawing upon the concepts of Byung-Chul Han and Jean-Paul Sartre regarding the burden of choice and societal hyperactivity. Special emphasis is placed on the Stoic concept of the "inner citadel" (Marcus Aurelius, Seneca) as an internal spiritual foundation for cultivating solitude as opposed to forced isolation. The paper argues that the right to disconnect serves as a fundamental mechanism for safeguarding human agency, critical thinking, and authentic self-realization in the digital age.
