Анотація
У роботі здійснено порівняльний аналіз радянсько-фінської («Зимової») війни 1939–1940 рр. та сучасної російсько-української війни. Розглянуто спільні риси обох конфліктів: фабрикування приводу до агресії, розрахунок на блискавичну перемогу та зміну влади, недооцінку обороноздатності меншої держави, системні вади армії агресора й міжнародну ізоляцію. Доведено, що обидві війни відтворюють сталу модель імперської поведінки росії, за якої кількісна перевага нівелюється мотивацією оборонця, мобільною тактикою та зовнішньою підтримкою. Зроблено висновок, що Зимова війна є історичним прообразом, який пояснює як прорахунки Кремля у 2022 р., так і логіку спротиву жертви агресії.
THE WINTER WAR OF 1939–1940 AS A HISTORICAL PROTOCOL OF THE RUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN WAR: PARALLELS OF MILITARY STRATEGY AND POLICY
Abstract
This paper provides a comparative analysis of the Soviet-Finnish (“Winter”) War of 1939–1940 and the current russian-Ukrainian war. The study examines features common to both conflicts: the fabrication of a pretext for aggression, the expectation of a swift victory and a change of government, the underestimation of a smaller state’s defensive capacity, the systemic deficiencies of the aggressor’s army, and international isolation. It is argued that both wars reproduce a persistent pattern of russia’s imperial behaviour, in which numerical superiority is offset by the defender’s motivation, mobile tactics, and external support. It is concluded that the Winter War serves as a historical prototype that explains both the Kremlin’s miscalculations in 2022 and the logic of the victim’s resistance.
