Application of Autonomous UAV Return to Preserve the Aircraft Upon Loss of Control Link During Electronic Suppression

Abstract. The paper considers the problem of losing a small UAV when the control link disappears due to electronic jamming. It is proposed to apply a pre-configured procedure of autonomous actions of the aircraft: detection of link loss, short attempts to restore it, return along the flown route and landing in a safe place. The conditions under which the return is effective, the procedure of setup and pre-flight checks, and the limitations of the approach are described.
